3D Puff embroidery is primarily done on caps. Okay well what exactly is it? 3D puff is a specialty embroidery design that actually gives your design "Exactly what it's called" a 3D effect. When you look at the design it sticks out of the surface as to give it a 3D look and feel. Can you embroider a 3D puff design onto a shirt or jacket? The answer to that is Yes but I would not recommend it. 

Why? Because your flat clothing articles get washed a lot more than your caps do so as you wash and dry your clothes your 3D puff design would brake down after time and you would lose that 3D look and feel. That is why 98% 3D puff embroidery designs are done on caps.
